How To Care For Your New Soft Touch Garment

Your new custom embellished products are created using an ink dye process that provides a permanent, long-lasting, and durable cherished item. However, if not cared for properly, your product can be damaged.  To avoid damage, follow these recommendations.  

All embellished or decorated garments should be washed/laundered in cold water with like-color garments.  Gentle washing is considered the best washing machine cycle.

Washing Frequency
How often you launder your embellished garment will determine how long your garment will last. The more you wash, the sooner the embellishment may fade, crack or peel. This is true for all types of embellishments. Most embellishments should last at least 30 proper washes, but there is no industry guarantee. 

Do not dry-clean embellished garments.

Avoid using bleach (chlorine / non-chlorine) or fabric softener.  These products may cause damage to your garment and WILL cause damage to your embellishment.

Use gentle, non-acidic, and non-abrasive detergents and laundering practices.  

Fabric Softener can cause the fibers of the garment to stretch, thus damaging the UV protection provided by the garment.

Bleach WILL destroy dyes, inks, and embroidery, causing fading, flaking or cracking of the embellishment. Fabric Softener is known to cause discoloration and can remove the color from dye and ink. The loosening of fibers can cause embroidery to loosen and become deformed.

*THIS INCLUDES WHITE SHIRTS.

BLEACH WILL CAUSE POLYESTER SHIRTS TO DISCOLOR.

The best drying of embellished garments is air drying.  If machine drying, tumble dry on low heat and avoid excessive time. 100% polyester garments dry very quickly. Remove immediately from the dryer when complete.

DO NOT DRY CLEAN 

It is best to avoid ironing 100% polyester embellished garments.  If ironing can not be avoided it is best to try to avoid ironing the embellished areas.  Iron the garment on very low heat and turn the garment inside out. 

 It is best to follow the laundering recommendations on the garment label.
